closet organizing
That's why the first thing I do is look around your house and see what your natural organizing style is. Then together, we'll organize your closet to your style - and since it's set up how you organize anyway, keeping it that way is much easier!
Click the button below to take a fun little quiz to see what organizing style you are, and what organizing tools work best for you. It's not graded, and it only takes a few minutes!
I'm glad you asked! Picture this: you are a visual macro organizer (a butterfly in my lingo) and you watch a Marie Kondo video on YouTube and get inspired. After touching and thanking every item, you diligently fold all of your shirts and jeans into little packets, and stack them in your drawers by colors. You might even take a photo. This works great - until laundry day.
Now you have a basket full of a rainbow assortment of shirts and tangled up socks and pajama pants. The kids need to get to soccer practice, you're starving and no one has started dinner (because of course not), and doggone it you're just tired. Are you really going to meticulously fold all those shirts into little packets and stack them into the drawer, threading them into the right color spot? Not if you're like me you won't! (Now if you were my friend Jen, then of course you would because she's a hidden micro organizer - a cricket as it were.)
Oh yeah, you read that right. If you had zero ability to organize, your life would be a complete shambles! There are definitely some areas of your life that are running pretty darn smoothly, and my job is to discover what natural organizing style you have, and apply it to your closet!
We identify your organizational style by two metrics: are you visual or hidden? Do you macro or micro organize? So simple!
There may be three (or two!) kinds of people, but did you know that there are four unique organizing styles? And that the reason most of us think we aren't organized is NOT because we are lazy, but because we're organizing the wrong way for how we naturally organize.
