I discovered that the "perfect" closet isn't about custom rods, drawers, cubbies, or shelves. It’s about having clothes that flatter the body shape you have now, in colors that make you look radiant, and organized so that it's easy to find and easy to return every item stored there. It's about creating a personal sanctuary where every piece of clothing sparks joy and confidence.
I researched how to create the "perfect" wardrobe – both the space and its contents. And that’s how The Wardrobe Whisperer was born.

I may not be a little boy, but I know that feeling all too well. Only my nightmare came every morning when I had to get dressed. My closet was a chaotic mess of clothes that seemed to taunt me. Wrong color, wrong size. Work clothes mingling with weekend attire. Garments strewn across shelves, hangers, hampers, and the floor. Clothes that made my hips look big and my shoulders look narrow.
But like the brave boy in the book, I conquered my fears and tamed my closet. I faced myself in a full-length mirror and was brutally honest about what had to go and what had earned the right to stay. And boy, did those three remaining items look lonely in my closet.
There’s a Nightmare in My Closet is a classic children's book written in 1968, where a little boy's closet becomes a dark and mysterious place. Each night at bedtime, he worries about a nightmare lurking inside. But by the end, he conquers his fears and tames his closet (it is a children's book after all. )
- There's a Nightmare in my Closet
There's nothing in your closet to be afraid of.
